Why use an IV drip?

Even if you take a multi-vitamin pill or even large doses of oral vitamins, this does not insure that you are absorbing those vitamins. Many Americans have a reduced capacity to absorb certain vitamins such as B12, Iron, Vitamin D3, and many others. There are many causes of reduced vitamin absorption such as the use of certain drugs, surgery, or a poor diet. Certain foods, some medications, and chronic exposure to antibiotics (in meat, poultry, and milk) can potentially reduce vitamin absorption as well. Taking large doses of oral vitamins in these instances is often ineffective due to the reduced ability to absorb these nutrients through the GI tract.

The only way to determine if you are vitamin deficient is through blood testing and physical evaluation. IV vitamins bypass the GI tract, thus insuring administered vitamins are taken in by the body and absorbed. At MVI Infusions, each infusion is tailored to the specific nutritional needs of the patient. Our vitamins and minerals are custom-prepared without preservatives or additives by a compounding pharmacy using a Laminar Flow Hood and specialized air filtration to safely prepare sterile nutrient injections within a controlled environment.

Our Process:

a board certified physician in Internal Medicine, who has been practicing in southeastern Michigan for over 20 years.

We use a tiny 24-gauge needle, so starting the IV just involves a quick poke. When the needle is withdrawn, a soft catheter remains in place for the remainder of the treatment. The infusion is more comfortable than an ordinary blood draw.

Depending on the infusion formula and the desired result, you may experience localized warmth and either an increase in energy or a relaxation effect. An improved sense of calm and well-being accompanies many infusions, especially those with a Vitamin C or Magnesium boost. Many of our patients report subsequently improved sleep.

The length of treatment depends on the nutrient mix and concentration being infused, and ranges from 20 minutes to an hour.
